C Results Celebrates… Bratwurst Day!

Did you know the 16th of August is international Bratwurst Day? We didn’t either… until we decided to hold a Bratwurst Day BBQ to celebrate! After a false start due to rain, we invited some of the neighbouring businesses in Malaga to come down and enjoy one of the greatest exports from Germany after BMWs and lederhosen - a bratwurst in a bun.

Bratwurst, or ‘brats’, are a delicious German sausage made from pork and veal, lightly seasoned with herbs and spices. Some say it's almost as delicious as Chris Hebbard’s sunnies. Similar to the smell of a bunnings BBQ on a Saturday morning, Brats command a cult-like following from the 327 Germans currently living in Perth, most of Adelaide, and any and every American who watches NFL.

Unlike our lightweight classic bbq snags, the brat is a hefty sausage that makes everything else look downright pathetic. There’s only one place to source Bratwurst in Perth, and it’s not Aldi. If you haven’t been to Elmar’s in Highgate, do yourself a favour and get down there, ideally with an empty stomach. Produced in-house, the Elmar’s bratwurst are legendary and the perfect brat for our Bratwurst Day BBQ.

Any sausage with German origins should be consumed with heavy sauerkraut, fresh white bun, and a faux German accent. Our BBQ wasn’t all German puns and hearty sausages however, we were also raising money for Headspace Midland and Youth Focus via gold coin donation. Overall we raised a tidy $750 donation for Headspace Midland and Youth Focus, which we considered a great result by a large foreign sausage in the industrial heartland of Malaga.

A big thank you to all the local businesses who came down to support our Bratwurst Day BBQ, it was great to meet some new faces in the area. Thank you for your support towards Headspace Midland and Youth Focus, we hope you all left full, and are looking forward to International Bratwurst Day 2023!
