C Results celebrates National Yorkshire Pudding Day with new ‘Yorkie Pudd’ company policy

While most businesses in Perth are reviewing Covid policies, Perth printing company C Results is taking a different approach, implementing a new policy requiring all staff to consume their food from Yorkshire Puddings. Released in celebration of National Yorkshire Pudding Day, held annually on the 6th of February, the new policy also plays a role in the company’s CovidSAFE plan.

Revered across the UK since the early 1700’s, the ‘yorkie pudd’ is as synonymous with the Brits as bad teeth, warm flat beer and losing the Ashes. More recently, potential superfood benefits of this stodgy savoury pancake have emerged, with professional athletes using the puddings for recovery after long periods of high intensity exercise. Containing an elite combination of flour, eggs, milk and beef fat, yorkie pudds may also help boost the body’s immune response as a proactive measure to prepare against viral infections, such as Covid-19.

‘Ensuring our staff are following government guidelines is clearly our first priority during these unprecedented times’ said C Results business owner Matt Cahill, ‘However, we are also focusing on nutrition as a proactive strategy to help prime our immune systems. The Yorkshire Pudding clearly has the potential to provide increased nutritional benefits as we ready for the Omnicron wave, or to celebrate Freo winning a premiership, whichever comes first.’

C Results found an innovative way to support Foodbank WA and source Yorkshire Puddings for the new company policy in one hit. ‘We’re big believers in Foodbank WA, they do amazing work in the local community’ says Chris Hebbard ‘We knew their community kitchen needed support, and we knew we needed to make it easy for our staff by providing the pudds. So we thought why not contract Foodbank for supply of the puds, and provide a donation at the same time.’

‘When C Results initially approached us I have to admit it was not the usual partnership pitch, but as soon as we heard it involved yorkie pudds we were all in. I mean, who doesn’t love a good yorkie pudd?!’ said Foodbank Head Chef Grant Longman. ‘The C Results donation to our community kitchen will enable us to provide 2000 meals to WA families in need’ advised Foodbank Senior Fundraising and Partnerships Manager Ian de Nazareth ‘It’s a great help and we are thankful for the support from C Results’.

C Results implemented the Yorkshire Pudding policy in February 2022 in celebration of National Yorkshire Pudding Day, held annually on February the 6th. Started in 2007, National Yorkshire Pudding Day is held to celebrate the contribution the mighty Yorkshire Pudding has made to pubs and sunday roasts around the world. Each year the day pulls record crowds at Yorkshire Pudding celebrations held across the UK, Jindalie and Mindarie.

The Yorkshire Pudding Policy will apply to staff only, however Yorkshire Puddings are available on request for C Results visitors and clients. However please be aware vegan or gluten free options are not available.

The Foodbank WA Community Kitchen prepares affordable, nutritious, frozen meals for people vulnerable to or experiencing food insecurity and is a hive of activity every week of the year. Volunteers work together with Head Chef Grant to prepare, cook and package frozen meals for West Aussies in need.

Since opening its doors, the kitchen has reduced our food waste from 11% to just 3%, by giving the food that we rescue a third life.

We were proud to be able to make a donation to support the Foodbank Community Kitchen as part of our Yorkshire Pudding Policy. You can find more details on the Community Kitchen below.
